Tokio, zwischen 6 und 8 Uhr morgens auf dem grössten Fischmarkt der Welt. Hunderte von Ein-Mann-Transportwagen steuern im Eiltempo in die Hallen, wo sie jeden Tag unzählige Tonnen Fisch aus aller Welt in den Markt hinein- und herausfliessen lassen. Rund 65 000 Händler arbeiten hier auf einem Gebiet so gross wie ein Stadtteil. In Tsukiji hat sich so ein komplexes Netzwerk entwickelt aus Fischern, Firmen und Restaurants, welche weltweit Angebot und Nachfrage definieren: Wall Street der Fischindustrie.

Tokyo, in the early morning hours at the world’s biggest fish market. Hundreds of small one-man transport vehicles rush at high speed into the halls, where they let tons and tons of fish from all over the world flow in and out of the market on a daily basis. About 65 000 traders work here on a surface that is as big as a city district. A complex, yet finely-tuned network made of fishers, companies and restaurants, who share their control of worldwide supply and demand, come together in Tsukiji: the Wall Street equivalent of the fishing industry.
